In her own words, here is this survivor's reason why she needs your support:
As a victim of abuse and human trafficking, I have endured ongoing harm and manipulation at the hands of my abusers, including in the form of identity theft. Because the current lease was co-signed by people who are no longer in my life I no longer have a way on my own to purchase a car. From an early age, I experienced exploitation and manipulation in the form of sexual abuse and trafficking by my parents. This dark chapter of my life is filled with unimaginable pain and suffering. But what makes it even more distressing is how my own social security number became a weapon against me. I have a compromised credit score due to fraudulent activities carried out in my name. My parents possessed all my personal information including my social security number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, and former addresses. Armed with this data, they engaged in identity theft with ease. They opened credit cards, obtained loans, and made purchases, all while leaving me completely unaware of their crimes. The financial repercussions of their actions added to the trauma I had endured and left a lasting impact on my life.
The emotional wounds I have carried are profound and will continue to require ongoing support, but the financial damage done can begin to be repaired with your help. Granting me a fresh start through a new vehicle will help to provide me a glimmer of hope, stability, and empowerment, because through it I can go to counseling and work part time. . It will allow me to sever ties with my past, liberating me from the constant fear of being traced by my abusers. I urge you to consider and prioritize the significant impact a fresh start can have on my life. By helping me to obtain a new vehicle, I will be empowered to take control of my financial future, I will be able to work part time, be a survivor advocate and be who God has called me to be.
